About

I grew up in Morocco, studied engineering and business in France, and have lived in Singapore, London, Paris, and Abu Dhabi. For the past decade, I've been lucky enough to build great products surrounded by some of Europe's best talent.

These days I lead product at AI71, invest early-stage through EQT Ventures, and advise founders at inflection points. I also build things on my own time, mostly because I can't help it.

Right now I spend most of my time thinking about AI as a personal assistant, a colleague, and a new way to run a company.

Career

2025–now
Head of Product

AI71

Building a platform where powerful AI agents work hand-in-hand with enterprise teams — without compromising data privacy. Full enterprise-grade AI harness: LLM agnostic, infrastructure agnostic, built for governments and large organizations that need AI they actually control.

2025–now
Scout Investor

EQT Ventures

Early-stage investing across consumer, prosumer, AI, mobile, and health.

2023–2025
VP Product

Photoroom

Joined as a freelancer. Became VP Product. Managed the launch and iteration of Photoroom's first generative AI features and participated in building proprietary foundational models from the product side. Built a hands-on product and data team. Photoroom grew to 300M+ downloads, $50M+ ARR, and a $500M+ valuation — one of the most capital-efficient companies in YC history. Clients include DoorDash, Decathlon, Warner Bros., and Netflix.

2020–2023
Group Product Manager

Zenly / Snap

Built and grew multiple product teams around large new initiatives for the social maps app that defined a generation. Took new product lines from 0 to 15M+ DAUs. Zenly was acquired by Snap in 2017, ranked top 10 social app globally, and reached 35M+ MAUs.

2020–2025
Board Member

Foodvisor

Product and strategic guidance for a VC-backed health & fitness consumer app through multiple growth stages. Foodvisor exited in 2025.

2017–2020
Co-founder & CEO

Travelbees

Built a consumer mobile app using background geolocation and photo analysis to help people map and discover places they love. Raised a €1M seed round from tier-1 investors. Hired and managed a 6-person team (ex-Apple, Twitter, Criteo, Withings). Ran product, data, marketing, and fundraising. The core team joined Zenly/Snap as a result.

2015–2017
Senior Product Manager

Criteo

Built Criteo's first "Offline to Online" product — capturing granular shopping intent in physical retail stores using BLE beacons and geolocation, then using that data to drive online campaigns. Proved and attributed the effect of online campaigns on in-store purchases. Criteo's platform reached 2B+ users globally.

2012–2015
Product Manager

Withings

Owned the product roadmap, growth, and monetization for the Withings app, reporting to the CEO. Focused on enabling health behavior change and habit formation through software. The app became a multi-million user platform, was selected "Best of 2014" by Apple, and drove a significant share of Withings' revenue through an innovative loss-leader strategy.

2011–2012
VC Analyst

Ventech

Early-stage venture capital in Paris. Sourced ~20 deals per week, conducted CEO interviews and due diligences. This is where I first saw how startups are built — and decided to join one.

Advisory

Building is easier when you have someone good to think with. I advise founders and product leaders on product strategy, AI products, and team building.

Product strategy Positioning, roadmap, go-to-market. I also get into the details — feature scoping, prioritization, and what to cut.
AI product development From prototype to production, what to build vs. buy, how to ship AI that's actually used.
Operating with AI Rethinking how a company works when AI is part of the core system, not just a feature bolted on top.
Hiring & team building Structuring product teams, hiring senior PMs and VP Products who actually build.

Side Projects

I learn by building. These are experiments, mostly with AI:

mdopen A CLI that renders any Markdown file to a self-contained HTML page you can annotate in the browser — then copies your notes back out as quote-anchored markdown to paste straight into a coding agent. Built for the loop where an agent writes a doc and you need to tell it what's wrong. Clivages.com A platform for France's most divisive debates. It never says who's right — instead each side is argued in its strongest, fully-sourced form by an AI agent blind to the others, so no position gets caricatured. Reasoning and sources are scored, not winners. 14 debates so far. Double — Your AI Clone An iOS app that fine-tunes a model on images of you — found automatically by scanning your photo roll. It generates new images of you in any context, no manual uploads needed. Habits — AI Daily Tracker An iOS habit tracker with eight AI coach personalities that learn your patterns and adapt their guidance. Streaks, lock-screen widgets, and celebration effects to make routines stick. ahmed.bot My personal AI assistant. Agentic harness built entirely from scratch, before OpenClaw became a thing. Qawanin GPT — Moroccan Law Bot A Telegram bot powered by GPT with access to the full Moroccan legal corpus. Ask it legal questions in French or Arabic. Built during the GPT-3.5/4 launch wave. French Schools Finder An interactive tool ranking every primary school and high school in France by performance data. Built for parents making one of the most data-poor decisions of their lives. AI Flashcards Generates study flashcards from any text using AI. Built during the GPT-3.5/4 launch wave for faster learning and retention.
